GRAR REBar Camp May 26, 2010
Carra Riley asked me what stood out for me at GRAR”s first REBar Camp. Well the one thing that stood out for me is the process called “Docu Sign”. For those who are not familiar with that technology it allows someone to electronically “sign” a document without printing it. I firmly believe in the process of going “paperless”. I have a hard time printing documents because I truly believe it’s unnecessary. There again you have the occasional client (possibly older) who have not embraced the new digital age and they need copies of everything. There again you are working for the best interest of “your” client. You just roll with the punches.
Being the fact that most of my clients prefer the docs to be emailed to them and some go one step further and use it for that purpose. I work with one title company (Essential Title Co Katie Young 616 719 2316) and they are in my estimation one of the best in this area. Katie and Carol Neal are truly in the digital age. All of my transactions are scanned to them and all the packages for the client (with the exception of the Deed and a few other documents) are put on a disc for them. I have a backup system so I have everything pertaining to that client electronically. So if anything is lost (their disc) we have the ability to email anything they need. We have to be aware of the resources around us. These “new” tools are here to help us do a better job. So if you’ve never heard of Docu Sign look into it. Also invest in a scanner (HP, Lexmark, Brother etc). This will definitely elevate your business to a higher level.
