Things to Do in Champaign, Illinois: A Ten Week Series, Week 1
"Things to Do in Champaign, Illinois"...this is a phrase I've Googled many times in the past, always on the lookout for more interesting things to do here in the greater Champaign area! The summer is now in full swing, and I thought it would be fun to do a ten-week summer series in which each week I highlight a fun thing to do around Champaign.
Each of these ten things will be either FREE or minimal cost! So, without further ado...
Week 1: University of Illinois Arboretum
If you haven't visited this place, put it on your to-do list! The Arboretum is located in Urbana just south of Florida Avenue on Lincoln Avenue, and it's FREE! You may need to bring a few quarters for the metered parking, but otherwise there's no entry fee.
Sitting on 160 acres of land, the arboretum offers a variety of gardens and trails, including the Miles C. Hartley Selections Gardens, the Noel Welcome Garden, the Idea Garden and the Japan House. You could easily spend an hour or more strolling along these paths and enjoying the greenery.
For more information, visit the University of Illinois Arboretum website here.
Enjoy these pictures I took on my visit to the University of Illinois Arboretum a few weekends ago...
