Energy StarThe homebuyer tax credit may be over but you can still get a nice chunk of change back from the government when you make your home more efficient. Federal tax credits are available until the end of 2010 for 30% of the cost up to $1500 for certain:

  • Window, Doors & Skylights
  • Insulation and Insulating Products
  • New Furnaces, Boilers & Heat Pumps
  • Efficient Central Air Conditioning
  • Tankless Water Heaters
  • Biomass Stoves
  • Roofs

and up to 30% with no limit for certain:

  • Geothermal Heat Pumps
  • Solar Panels
  • Small Wind Turbines
