I'm so 3008, You so 2000 and late.... (AR success)

Quoting one of my favorite bands the Black Eye Peas I find that phrase fitting for what I need to express. Not to long ago Bob Stewart initiated a Hyper Local Blogging Challenge. This challenge was just what I needed to kick my butt in gear to figure out AR better and BLOG more like I should. I took an AR University class to learn exactly how to maximize my local blogging posts.

I know AR and social media are the future. I know cold calling, newspaper/print ads, and door knocking are antiquated concepts and for a dying generation of Realtors. Never was that more obvious to me when I received the call from my success story.

During the challenge I wrote posts about different areas in Santa Clarita. One area I wrote about was a 55+ community in Valencia Belcaro tract. Within days of my post I received a call from Bonnie & Ron looking for a single story home in the Belcaro tract. Bonnie & Ron are almost 70 years young and are on the Internet googling for property. Light bulb! AR is the future!

Thanks to Bob's challenge I just recently closed a deal that earned me a very pretty penny! Those that haven't figured out how Active Rain can help their business not only for themselves but for their clients are definitely 2000 and late!

Congratulations Laura, I wonder how so many agents stay in business without AR. This place is wonderful.

Congrats Laura!  Hyper local is where it's at... even though it has been in my face on AR, it didn't really sink in fully until I went to a Tom Ferry event last month.  Hopefully I will have a story like yours to post soon!!

I still purport the shotgun effect. Doors, papers, websites, social media sites, ... Prioritize your time, but don't pigeonhole to one market.

Very clever girl.  Love this post and I like that song too.  The success stories just keep on coming...how can people not believe in the power of Active Rain?

Laura:

I have been through two of Bob's hyper-local challenges now and they have changed the way I think about blogging. He knows how to light a fire under people to get them to do the right thing - and it actually works.

People will be coming to you from your 55+ community post for some time. It's great to read about your success.

Laura, isn't it wonderful?  You just do your thing, and the Internet is doing the rest for you, technology + hardwork = result.  Congratulations!

I can't report a lead directly related to the hyper-blog challenge, but 4 of the 7 blogs I wrote landed on the first page of Google.  I also recently wrote a hyper-local blog about a building where I was about to do a listing presentation. After I reviewed my integrated Social Media and internet strategy with the sellers, I Googled their building on my laptop to show them how I can get to the first page of Google. And there it was! Number 1 on the first page of Google.  I got the listing.
