Summer Fun in League City, TX and surrounding area Galveston and Harris County

Summer is here and it's time to get outdoors and enjoy what League City and the surrounding area has to offer. There is so much to do and you don't need to travel far. So spend less on gas and get there in 30 minutes or less so you can spend more time playing and less time traveling.

So what is there to do, almost anything, so you can keep everyone in your family happy. League City itself has golfing, boating, shopping, museums and parks. Clear Lake is a favorite destination for boaters along with the bay off of Kemah and Seabrook. You will see all kinds of water craft traveling on Clear Lake and the bay. You can dock and eat at one of the many restaurants in Kemah and enjoy the Kemah Boardwalk. Then go shopping or ride the rides on the Boardwalk.

Golfers you can enjoy a round at South Shore Harbour Country Club, Clear Lake Golf Club, or Magnolia Creek Golf Links. Plus the numerous golfing courses available all around Houston, Friendswood, and Galveston. While some enjoy golfing, other members of the family may prefer to go to the various parks and gardens. League Park with it's quaint Gazebo is a popular place for picnics, art & craft shows, concerts, and playground. It  is also very beautiful at night. Across the street is Helen's Garden which is a picturesque flower garden including a waterfall. Travel by Helen's Garden and you may see a wedding. It is a popular site for weddings or for pictures after the ceremony. There are many more parks and sportplexes in League City for every member of the family.

Having all that fun can create a big appetite and so you might want to go to one of the varied restaurants, League city has to offer. Some of my favorites are La Brisas, Sudies, Kelly's and Salt Grass. There are many more and Kemah of course has a wide range of restaurants including, seafood, Mexican, and hamburger joints. Let's not forget the Clear Lake City area with all the places to eat, you could pick a different one each night and never eat at the same place twice in a year.

What other entertainment is close by, more then can be mentioned here. Some of the best is Galveston, including the beach, The Strand, Moody Garden, Schlittlerbahn, Seawolf Park, and much more. Then in the Clear Lake area you have NASA, with it's tours, theater, and space center for the children. All this is just 30 minutes from Houston with a vast array of things to do (to be covered in a future blog).
