Howard Community College (HCC) has received a grant from the
National Foreign Language Center at The University of Maryland to start a new program. The program is designed to increase the number of Americans learning critical needs language.
HCC is the only recipient of the program in the state of Maryland and is amongst select schools such as Stanford that will implement this new program.
High School Students have the opportunity to learn Arabic or Mandarin Chinese and earn college credit tuition-free. The only cost is the application fee and that can be waived for students who demonstrate financial need.
The admissions process is selective, however, its a great opportunity for students to learn a language and college credit.
