Tips On Organizing Closets When Selling Your Home

•· Empty the entire closet. Decide where each item goes:

1. Keep

2. Donate

3. Throw away

4.  Pack away to be moved

You can pack away seasonal clothing and items not needed while your home is on the market.

•· Thoroughly clean the closet:

1.   Vacuum

2.   Clean baseboards

3.   Wipe down shelves

4.   Make sure lighting is working and the highest bulb wattage possible is used.

5.   Repaint if necessary

6.   Make any needed repairs

•·   Organize clothes according to type, color, and length.

•·   Store shoes in labeled shoe boxes or clear plastic storage boxes.

•·   Use clear plastic storage boxes to store other items needed.

•·   Use suitcases to store needed items that you want to keep out of sight.

•·   Invest in nice sturdy hangers. Make sure hangers are all going the same direction and are evenly spaced, and not overcrowded.

It is important to keep the floor clutter free. Doing so will help create visual space and will be easy to clean and maintain.

Remember buyers will be looking inside your closets and built-ins.  They are looking for storage, so let them see how much space your home has to offer.
