Google Earth - The Whole World In Your Hands!

Google Earth

The number one reason to incorporate Google Earth into your business is that it's FREE, and who isn't trying to save money in todays market and economy.  You can download Google Earth and begin using it immediately.

If you already have Google Earth, you may want to explore some of the features and valuable benefits that are available to you.  I wanted to share just a few tips that may entice you to take a serious look at why more and more people are discovering and using Google Earth.

Did you know that you can now create tours?  That includes vacations, open houses, caravans, and they are available in virtual mode, can be emailed, and even added to your GPS?  Google Earth is so much more than just a mapping program.  You've got the whole world in your hands.  Go in and look at all the layers and overlays you can add to your maps and screen shots.  Find schools, parks, shopping, transportation, dining, lodging etc., and then email to your clients who may be moving into that area.  It just keeps getting better...

Here's some sample screen shots I put together using Real Estate Shows
Google Earth Slide Show.

The Navigational tool on Google Earth is Fantastic.  You can zoom, turn, pitch, roll, angle, go vertical and horizontal, and even cruise across America's plains in slow, medium, or fast speed!  By using the navigational tools in Google Earth, you can now capture some awesome views, angles, and screen shots for your presentations. There's even 3D and now 4D.

Using the Search tools, you can get directions, do Fly-overs, Find businesses and more.  You can create custom views, add place-marks, create text and personalize your searches.  You can even show time zones, navigation, and save your searches for future use.

To see some youtube videos of what you can do with Google Earth and Youtube.com, check out this link.  Details>>>

BTW - For $20.00, you can upgrade to Google Earth Plus, and add GPS device support, get faster performance, add the ability to import spreadsheets, and get even higher resolution printing.  Some really great stuff for only twenty bucks.

Here's some more links you might want to check out:  Explore Popular Places , Featured Content , Google Earth Community , View 3D Buildings , Product comparison , Build 3D Models , Maps on your phone.  I think you'll agree after seeing these, this is a fabulous tool that can be used in your Business.  I'm sure many are already!

Google Earth is a powerful and useful application that you should add to your list of technology tools for your business and success.  This is not a new application, but it has been upgraded to 4.1 and has more features, tools, and options than I can fit into a single post.  There are so many things to explore, I hope you'll take the time to test drive, evaluate and utilize the FREE new and improved Google Earth.  The "Ball" is now in your court...

Have you seen "Where in the world is Matt?"  just another idea of what you can do with Google Earth!  The possibilities are endless...

Just when I think I am on to something new! Great post, I am doing some research on google earth and I think I am going to do my Second blog post that I've ever done, on it. So everyone said I had to come see your post and learn from a master, boy were they right! How do brownie points count anyway?

Alexander - you're gonna love it.  I got rid of my TREO 700 and went with iPhone when I joined AR a few months back. It's a cool tool and I use it often on my iPhone now as well. Very cool and no need for GPS, at least for now. :-)

I HAVE to use a palm treo because the supra lockbox software is compatible with the windows mobile platform. It has an IR port on the top which will communicate with the lockboxes.

THAT is why I bought one...... it is gonna be FUN again with a querty keyboard again.........point and click and......."Well, there are those keys---lets go and look at this house!!"

I had a querty keyboard about 6 years ago when I had a motorola personal communicator --- a combination text messageing and cellphone device........BEFORE they were considered COOL. I LOVED it...being able to type text messages to freinds and business aquaintances was FUN!! When the little bugger was opened up and sitting on a desk...it looked like a little tiny laptop!!!

I was so sad when I had dropped it for the 5th time on a tile floor and it stopped working...... I will be happy if I get my treo in the mail today!!

The first treo I got in the mail via ebay could not be activated because it had a past due balance on it from the previous owner..... the ebay seller sent another one right out to me after I sent the non-activating treo back to them. I have already downloaded to my computer a couple of programs I will be loading onto the treo when I get it and it is activated!!

BTW....I paid only 25% of the listed retail price for the palm treo 700w!!

woohoo!!

=-)

This is a really cool idea. I absolutely love Google. Hopefully they will get the street pano's finished soon. That's a really neat feature too. Thanks for the idea!

Alexander, hang on to that new TREO, don't drop this one, but if you do feel the incredible urge to do so, maybe do it over the carpet instead next time. lol!~  :-))

Charlene - I think the street pano's are already up and running, now they will tie them into virtual tours and you'll go right from the road, up the driveway, and into a virtual tour of the listed home. Wow, how cool is that? :-)

Brad........... I am having a problem......when I install programs, do I just unzip the programs into the treo....or is there a different method to installations.......... I have tried sync-ing the files to no avail.......

I unxipped the files to a directory in the desktop computer and then tried to sync them into the treo with no luck......I really want watchmaker 1.6 and google mobile to work on the treo...they are of no use to me sitting on my desktop system hard drive.......

Can ya help me...I am on a steep learning curve right now...... =-)

Alexander - you need to download the .prc file to do it from a computer.  Then double click on the prc file to have the applications load on your TREO the next time you hot-sync.  Let me know if that works.  :-)
