If you're interested in checking out local Charlotte NC area farmers markets, there's a really helpful interactive map that was compiled by the food editor at the Charlotte Observer.

You can view local farmers markets on the map and click any of the postings that interest you to get more info on days/hours of operation as well as a link to their websites.

The map actually includes a wide range of locations, it's not just specific to farmers markets within Charlotte, so even if it's not convenient to get to Charlotte there are local farmers markets in areas just outside of town as well.

Now that we're in mid, almost late June it's prime season to get out and explore the Charlotte region's farmers markets on a weekend (or weekday for that matter!) .

The only local market I've been to is the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market on Yorkmont Rd, but it's been a while and that's certainly not the only option in the area.   I'm planning on exploring and visiting some more local farmers markets soon and the map was a neat tool to get an idea for what's around.

From Center City Charlotte to South End, Ballantyne, Matthews, Mint Hill, NE Charlotte, and Huntersville there's a wide variety of local Charlotte NC farmers market locations to choose from.

Enjoy, and happy (almost) summer here in Charlotte!
