Is Social Media here to stay?

As we are always in a changing market as new fads come in as others go out.  As we have seen the craz of social media being the new firestorm sweeping across the world.  But my question is " How long do you think this fad will be here?"  Is it here to stay we will just see new branches of it taken off in other directions?  I see a lot of people that are putting all their eggs in one basket and wonder if this may hurt them in the long run.

 

What is your take on it all?

Honesty & Integrity in all I do!

unfortunately, it's here to stay!  Unlike the telephone, telegraph, faxes and e-mail this will continue to branch out and make the world yet smaller as the previous mentioned did!  I think that we will all have our personal contact bubbles but we will syndicate out further into the social media universe via connecting links and new sites.

John -- I would not use the word "unfortunately." I see the social media as a way to get out the truth as our hope of uncovering corruption. It is obvious that newspapers and most of TV are not disseminating the truth. See my post regarding The TEA Party Movement which is being driven to a large degree by the new social media. Social media is a new way to expose fraud and corruption. Some of the best leaders and trainers in the social media (eg Seth Godin) are saying that there are NO secrets, anymore. Just ask Tiger Woods, if you do not believe that!
