Although the main event takes place in La Plaza Park, jazz ensembles can be found at several venues within walking distance at nearby restaurants and clubs. The Cotati Jazz Festival will conclude at 7:00PM in the park, but you can expect the fun to continue at the Cotati Yacht Club, Spancky's Bar and Friar Tuck's Pub until the wee hours.

Six pianos that were hand painted and decorated by local non-profit organizations will be on display.  The pianos have been sitting outdoors in front of Cotati businesses for the past month, begging anyone passing by to sit down and play.  A special six piano performance is on the entertainment line-up for the event.

Dubbed the Biggest Little Jazz Festival In Sonoma County, you are sure to delight in this small town annual event.  With free admission, the Cotati Jazz Festival is hard to pass up!

what a great idea to have that piano available for anyone to play....I know people who would play all day....you'd have to peal their hands off the keys!!!

The Cotati Jazz Festival is my kind of function!  Love the concept and the after parties.

That sounds absolutely brilliant Cynthia. What a great atmosphere that must be. I love the idea that there are pianos all about town, just waiting for people to sit down and play a bit. That's a unique idea.

Barbara - It was nice to go to the grocery store (only one in town) and hear someone playing the piano.  It was unique to have the pianos outside, natures acoustics are so wonderful!

Mary Kay - we have more bars per capita than any other city in this county.  Every time we have a festival, the crowd flows into the bars for more fun.

Malcolm - There is a slogan (and bumper sticker) here, "keep Cotati weird", and you never know what's going to happen next.

Liz - this is a fun festival.  We always call it the jazz festival but mix it up every year with blues and swing dance music.  The dance floor came about 3 years ago when we had swing bands.  The chamber of commerce built it out of 4 x 8 plywood and it is stored when not in use.
