As the temperatures start to rise, the idea of being on the water becomes more appealing. As a surfer, I enjoy ducking under a wave first thing in the morning, but that might be more of an immersion experience than you expected. A fun alternative, that is still good exercise, is kayaking. Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, and Newport Beach all offer wandering waterways through harbors and moorings, with spectacular views of boats big and small, plus houses that will make you shake your head.
