By

The City of Columbus was ranked as 36th in Bicycling.com's list of America's Top 50 Bike-Friendly Cities and on the heels of that honor, the State of Ohio has just been ranked 32 in the nation in bike friendliness. Ohio moved up six spots from last year, in the third annual Bicycle Friendly State rankings from the League of American Bicyclists.

Locally, the City of Columbus plans to invest $10 million this year in bikeway projects. Columbus' Bicentennial Bikeways Plan calls for an additional 36 miles of off-road trails and 58 miles of on-street bike lanes and routes by 2015.

Sandra,

Love the bike path outside of the Senior Center.  When we would visit my family, my husband always runs it.  Is this the rails for trails something or other??  Love London, grew up there and my husband would love to move back but I love California most.

The Ohio to Erie Trail is a paved trail linking Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland, following lands formerly occupied by railroads and canals.  Hikers, bikers and other groups including bird watchers, horseback riders, cross-country skiers, and nature lovers are able to enjoy this Trail as they ride through quiet woods, thriving fields, charming small towns and dynamic urban centers.  London is a great little town to grow up in.
