Amicalola falls is the highest falls East of the Mississippi. This first picture is taken from the top of the falls looking down over 750 feet up !

Amicalola Falls from the top

While looking down and seeing this is great to get the full effect of the height of the falls you should really look up.

Standing in the same spot and lloking up this is what you see. This photo gives you a great idea of just how high up you are at the Falls. It is a heck of a walk up !!!!

Ever wopnder what a "Watershen is? The photo above gives you information

Below we have a photo of some of the pretty plants you can see along the walk up , or down from the falls

Amicalola Falls flora

These are Native Hydrangea growing all along the way . There are many great plants in this great setting as this next photo from the bottom looking up should show

Amicalola Falls

The above picture shows you the water and nature all blended together. There is a lodge at the top of the falls which has great views , rooms and cabins to stay in. Also the Appalachian trail starts at the bottom of the falls. So if you visit North Georgia go to Amicalola falls and walk a bit of the trail. The Park charges 5 dollars for a car to get in and is free on Wed. This is just part of the great beauty of the North Georgia Mountains

Charlie,

Beautiful photos.  Northern California is all brown now, except for our agriculture.  Hope you enjoyed your travels.

Charlie,

Nice photo story of this watershed. Love the rushing water and rocks in the wild. :)

Gorgeous photos, Charlie! So important to have lots of high-quality pictures. We work with a lot of out-of-state investors and they help us not to take for granted that people know what they are looking for. Buyers often have to "see" things before they even know what their criteria are. ...Of course, if I were looking for a mountain home I think your photos would win me over! I would never have guessed that was Georgia! --Sandy
