BEST BEER IN THE VALLEY!

Not only does Babe's Bar-B-Que have amazing BBQ--now they are gaining accolades for their brewing skills!

Babe's Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse at The River of Rancho Mirage took one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the L.A. International Commercial Beer Competition recently.  But they are not stranges to winning awards... check out The Best of the Best (Palm Springs Life), and Best of the Valley for years running! Great BBQ, and the best beer in the valley!

That brings the micro-brewery medal count for Babe's to eight in the last two years.

Babe's general manager, Arthur Vasquez, is happier than a pig in mud. Its “29 Palms Pale Ale,'' beat out Samuel Adams for the gold. Babe's got a silver in the German-style Schwarzbier category for the “Blackfin Lager.” Two bronzes went to “Babe's Honey Blond” and “Kilted Pig Wee Heavy Scotch” ale.

Nationally to Samuel Adams it's probably no big deal,'' Vasquez said. “Locally, it's become a bit of a rivalry” to out-do Sam the man.

Babe's micro-brewmaster, Scot Grabbe, tried not to appear all hopped up over the victory, saying some of it depends on how you place your beer. But clearly this Midwest college grad who got his start in 1994 with a home brew kit and a stint at Rock Bottom Brewery loves his work... and loves brewing the best beer in the valley!

Just ask his son, Porter.
