Home Staging with Feng Shui and Style

Home Stager with Feng Shui Manhattan Long Island #888

Hi!

I have found that many Feng Shui Principles are used in Home Staging and things Feng Shui Consultants have been doing for years with the "buzz" words of Home Staging, Home Redesign and Curb Appeal.  One example is Home Stagers will open the blinds for a light and airy feeling.  We see it as letting the "outside energy" in.  Or clearing a path to the front door and making sure the door is well groomed.  In Feng Shui, the front door is the "Mouth of Chi" and the pathway to it and the entranceway are always addressed.  We re-arrange the furniture to allow a good flow of energy and the number one principle of Feng Shui as in Home Staging is to declutter!

In addition to many of the same things Home Staging Professionals do, we are likely to use simple things like crystals, plants, windchimes and a water feature to enhance the energy.  There are currently no set standards (unfortunately) for either Feng Shui Consultants or Home Stagers, though many of the new sites lead you to believe you can become "accedited" or a Home Staging "Expert" if you take their courses which are oftentimes very expensive.

A good Home Stager should work with a seamstress (window treatments can be inexpensive and make a huge difference) and have access to furnture rental, if necessary for empty homes although changing the energy in a home is not usually expensive or difficult.

I do home staing on Long Island and New York City and would be happy to talk to other stagers for opinions and networking.  You can contact me by email at HomeStagingLI@aol.com or visit my website for additional information for real estate agents at http://www.fengshuili.com/

Hi Carole,

I took a quick look at your website and must say that you certainly approach the business in a very unique way!

I never have really had the time to become a complete devotee of Feng Shui, but I have many books on the subject and do use some of the principles in my own home.

As a fellow Long Islander, I would love to hear from you!  Feel free to contact me at any time.

Good luck with your very unique business!

HI Val!

Thank you for your comment, it was lovely to hear from you.  We have been using many of the same principles for years but we also incorporate the Energy of a space into the selling of a home.

I think New York is changing in it's vision of selling, especially in this market.  It is oftentimes not Real Estate Agents that don't feel the need for Staging, it is difficult (as you know) to convince the seller that it is important if they'd like to sell their home fast and for the best possible price.

I also work closely with several agents on Long Island and they are not only getting the listings, they are making sales.  I recently heard of a home in Massapequa that was professionally staged and buyers got into a bidding war over it!  It went for OVER their original asking price :)

I would love to meet with you and discuss our both very unique businesses.  I do believe incorporating aspects of Feng Shui not only in your home but also in your staging will help you achieve even more from your business.

I am not far from you at all, I live in Farmingdale.  I look forward to hearing from you, my phone number is posted on my website.

Best of luck to you and thank you so much for writing.
