WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

If anyone wonders why they may be loosing business take note of what happened in my office less than 10 minutes ago.  A very friendly lady just popped in and tried to sell me advertising in one of our local phone directories.  Not a problem so far.  Here is the rub.  She had her bra straps hanging out of her shirt, skin tight faded jeans, and a pair of platform shoes that fit a whole different profession.  While I did not expect her to be in a three piece suit this is just plain unacceptable no matter where you are or what you are selling.  She then announced she was a former real estate sales person but is not doing that because the business is so bad right now.  Really? Then what makes you think we dummies that are still hanging in there since this  is our profession would have the money to advertise? 

Lesson 1: Dress professionally on all your sales calls

Lesson 2: Don't tell the person you are trying to sell that you failed at your last job (appointment)

Lesson 3: Try not to tell anyone that business is so bad that they should not be able to afford your service

Now go out and apply these lessons to your next listing presentation or buyers appointment....It may just be what sets you apart from the crowd. HAPPY MONDAY.
