Exploring Montauk Long Island New York with NYC Feng Shui consultant Laura Cerrano. Part 1

Exploring Long Island with Feng Shui Long Island New York and Feng Shui Manhattan NY

This Year Feng Shui Long Island NY and Feng Shui Manhattan New York have so many places to travel.  First on the major list of exploring was Montauk Long Island NY...going to the end! This has been a destination I wanted to take for a very long time and finally just went for it :)

Montauk NY is located at the very end of Eastern Long Island, beyond that is just the great Atlantic Ocean and a whole world of opportunity.  I found out in a single days trip that Montauk NY has so much history dating back to colonial times with Native Americans to World War II and more.  This blog will be in two sessions, there was so much to see and I want to share all of it with you! This is absolutely a destination you need to put on your "bucket list."

The world Famous Montauk Light House on Long Island New York

The Long Island Montauk New York Light house was used not only to signal to sailors approaching Long Island but also as a World War II Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force base to keep Nazi Forces away from touching American soil, which they actually did...but only briefly. George Washington commissioned the building of the Montauk Light house in 1796The Montauk Light House is the first built light house in New York State and is the 4th oldest acting Light house still working.

In 1994 Long Island New York almost lost the Trademark Light House due to erosion. It was spared because of one lady from Jackson Heights Queens. She single handily, with her volunteered time and money created an plan to help offset the constant pounding of erosion towards the light house and it worked!!

Part 2 is to follow with interior photos of the light house, views and other areas to visit at Montauk Long Island NY

Laura,

I lived in the Bronx for 5.5 years and always wanted to go 120 miles to Mauntak, but never did. When worked in limo, got to Hamptons, but never to the tip of Long Island. Still w ant to do it, even now I am a bit far from New York.
Maybe one day

Hi Laura, I really enjoyed your exploration of Montauk Point and the beautiful pictures as well.  I remember my dad showing us pictures(black and white) of Montauk Point when I was a kid.  He worked in the Brooklyn and Boston Navy yards in the mid 1940's and had  a chance to get out that way a couple of times.  He loved it out there!

I look forward to part II.
