Father's Day with my Dad, David Belonger

                                                                        David Belonger & Jeff Belonger

The day started with going to the Medford Lakes Country Club in Medord Lakes, NJ for a round of golf on Father's Day. I was looking forward to not only playing some golf with my dad, but just to get out on the golf course since it was my first time this year. My brother-in-law, Joe Cleaver, joined us.  It would only be fitting considering that he is the husband of my sister.  ;o)  ps... and we are very lucky to have him as part of our family. I can't believe that it's been like 15 years.

In any case, the course was looking in good shape and I felt okay after hitting some golf balls on the driving range. My first 2 drives went hard and down into the ground, about 50 yards off the tee. Rut row...  My next 8 drives went straight, high, and long. Okay, I felt good then.

Off to the first tee we went...  My first drive started out to the left and semi sliced right in the middle of the fairway, about 125 yards to the green.  Well, my mid and short irons didn't feel like working for me at this time. I ended up with a 6 on the hole. My next 8 drives were not so good, all going into the other fairways.  I felt like I was playing 27 holes for the day.

Overall... I didn't shoot that well and I guess it could be to the fact that I haven't played in about a year. But the best part was being out with my dad and my brother-in-law.  It was good time, even though my score was... well, just put it this way, it was fun to be out.  My dad on the other hand, shot a 86. Excellent for someone that will be 68 years of age next week. And considering that it was like 90-95 degrees that day. Again, overall, it was a good time had by all and Medford Lakes CC  was in good shape.

Hey Jeff, well it looks as if you had a good time. It is always nice to spend some quality time with the family. Thanks for the sharing and hoping that your Fathers Day was grand.

Belonger - Sounds like you had a good old time and that is all that matters.  It's been years since I went golfing.  It may not surprise you that I drew blood the last time I went.  Take care, amigo.

Jeff: I'm glad you got to spend time with your dad and brother in law....My whole family golfs but I decided it wasn't for me....I'd smack it good down the fairway and all of a sudden it would slice lol  Slice down trees that is lol

Glad you could enjoy your dad!  My father has been gone now for 12 years.

BTW - I think I have some golf coupons in my Entertainment book, might you be interested in them?  I can mail them to you.

KYMBERLY.... . yes, it was good...  It was frustrating because I didn't play well, but it was good to spend time with my dad and brother-in-law. Life can be short and I just appreciate that I still have my dad around. thanks

JASON..... .  lol... you drew blood last time?  You must tell me the story next time we catch up.  I am still trying to put an AR gathering together in Philly.. I will keep you posted. and thanks

SALLY.. . you need to put some sort of mechanism in the golf ball so you can electronically control it's flight. Isn't that what the golf pros do?  lol  ps.. I love your new pic.  Not sure when you changed it,.

BRIDGET.... . I am sooo sorry to hear about your loss of your father. Yes, I am sure many of us take it for granted until it's to late.  And as I have gotten older, I want to spend more time around my parents, not knowing when it will be the last time. In regards to the coupons... sure, .. read my comment to Jason.  Maybe I can get them from you when we meet up. I do have you on my list and will keep you posted.  thanks
