Portland Beavers Baseball we will miss you!

The Portland Beavers are giving the fans one last chance at seeing some great baseball in Portland and last nights game was exactly that. They played the quickest game in Portland Beavers history and it was a shutout win 3-0 over Tacoma.

Now, the fact that it was a shut out was pretty awesome also, because it was the first shut out in over 3 years. So thanks family and to all baseball fans in Portland, go see the Beavers by the end of the season as it will be there last season here as the are being kicked out of their stadium that they have been playing at for over a 100 years so Major League Soccer can take it over.

So, Portland, please bring back Baseball to Portland so we can have America’s pastime back and we can have a place to take our family. Because right now it is looking like we will be driving either North to Seattle or South to San Francisco to see some baseball. (Believe me I would rather spend my money here)

Wow! What a shame to lose local baseball in your area! Our local season started here several weeks ago and we go a few times in support of the St. George Roadrunners. It is a great, inexpensive way to spend an evening with the family, eating hot dogs and peanuts!

Todd ~ This makes me sad! I hate to see your Portland Beavers Baseball team leave your area. It just doesn't seem fair, I am sure it was a popular, family oriented, fun event for the community. Let's hope they are brought back soon!

Todd - I feel your pain!  I am a football fan, but lived most of my life in the L.A. area.  I had season tickets to the L.A. Rams, and went to on occasional L.A. Raiders game.  Then both teams moved away.  Boo.  Then I got season tickets to the Anaheim Pirhannas Arena football team, and they went out of business. Phooey!  Now I'm in the Sacramento area, and most here are 49ers fans, but after having them as "hated" rivals most of my life, it's hard to be a 49ers fan!

It is sad to see them leave here after 100 years for soccer and after we spent so much money just a few years ago to update their stadium. Now we need to update it again for soccer and I promise I will never go to a game in protest!

Todd, change is tough, no? I've been to a few minor league games and a couple of major league games, and I have to say, if I were to go, I'd prefer minor leagues.

Don't one or more of your kids play soccer?

How sad.  100 years? I would think their would be some sort of protest or something. Not that it would help, but who knows. We have a AAA team locally - Frisco Roughriders - that we like to go see. Im not a big baseball fan, but love to go to the local games because its small and there tends to be more action. Well hopefully they will bring a team back to Portland for you.

Soccer over baseball?  I like both sports but can't believe soccer is supplanting an established baseball team.  I think you need to get some investors together and get a team.
