Tapping into free tools & marketing! Great resources are out there!

By
Real Estate Agent with Leo Parker Real Estate & Auction

Some may say I am cheap... I like to think I'm thrifty. Well, the bottom line is- I just don't have the budget I would like to spend on marketing. Who does? I am always looking for new things to stretch my budget. As time goes on, hopefully my marketing budget will increase but even then I'd like to think I would be smart enough to tap into the great resources available out there. I recently noticed an ad in a newsletter I get online -DVD's for sellers that Lowe's will send out with your name and info for- are you ready... FREE. Yes, it is free for REALTORS! I went to the Realtor.org website and signed in, went to resources and signed up on the Lowe's site. They have some nice offerings to help get you just a little more marketing out to your clients. I sent one to my broker to test it out and it is a fabulous item. You personalize it with your picture, logo, and contact info- enter your clients mailing info and choose the item you would like to send.

The DVD is from HGTV and has ideas from Designed to Sell. This FREE DVD comes with three episodes of "Designed to Sell" with ideas that can help your client make their home more attractive for buyers. It has a note from you, the Realtor and a 10% off coupon they can use at Lowes. Another way to get your name and face out to your client. I love this item and there are some other good things to send to buyers too. I like their newsletter too. It has lots of good tips and information in it.

Check it out- you may like it as much as I do!

Hello Melissa,

I saw that ad on realtor.org a few months ago. It seemed very interesting; one thing led to another, 3 months have went by, and I have yet to incorporate that within my marketing toolbox. I am glad to here that you have and that you are a fan. I, like you, do not have an unlimited budget. However, like you, I try to spend my time and my energy finding the best, most reliable, and most cost effective marketing techniques. I would say free is cost - effective. If time is all we're spending to beef up our marketing strategies, then we're doing well. Most Marketing, done effectively, only costs us our time - I don't mind, and as it sounds, neither do you.

Best of luck to you Melissa.

Have a Wonderful Day!

Melissa, Great advice.  We have so many "opportunities" to "invest" in programs which will pay for themselves with "just one transaction" that your suggestions are blessings to the ear!

Thanks for the tip!  I use the Lowes benefit site for the 10% coupon, but never even looked at the DVD.  Oh well, my loss.  I will be sure to use it on my next listing.  Thanks again!

I love the Lowe's benefits-I send it to all new clients and also sign them up for the magazine. I think it's a little added bonus that they also let you buy and send gift cards to clients for 5% off.
