A river runs through it - another wonderful reason to love St Cloud MN - Day 7
The mighty Mississippi River is part of the heart of St Cloud MN. It runs through Sartell then into Sauk Rapids and winds through St Cloud, providing wonderful views, fishing and life to plants and animals along the way.
The Mississippi slows at the St Cloud State University area hydro electric dam, then goes around creating the Beaver Islands, now a park, trail and nature area. The Mississippi then flows down to Clearwater and eventually goes all the way down to be the dividing line between the twin cities of St Paul and Minneapolis.
The Mississippi River is a part of our life here in St Cloud, most people who live here will tell you that they cross it several times a week if not several times a day.
As I started to think about my blog posts for the series Wonderful reasons to live in St Cloud, I had originally planned on starting out with, in my opinion, the single greatest reason that St Cloud MN is so vibrant. The Mississippi River.
People have always settled where there is good land and plenty of fresh water. The Mississippi River along with all of our 10,000+ lakes is a great reason to live and stay in Minnesota. We have amazing farm land too, but I do not think I will get around to blogging about dirt, but stay tuned, I do have one very good reason to love St Cloud that involves dirt, but not directly.
Blooming for home buyers.
