Where: Sanford/Central Florida Zoo

When: July 3 & 4, 2010

Central Florida residents, here's a great idea for some Independence Day fun! The Sanford Zoo, located just 30 miles from the Daytona Beach area promises great fun for the entire family.

For kids (of all ages), on July 3 & 4 this year, at the Central Florida Zoo there will be a Bounce House, Face Painting, Musical Storytime and much more. There's even the "Tropical Splash Ground".

There is SO much to experience at the Central Florida Zoo. It's a great place to visit for any occasion. Why not make the 4th of July your first of many trips to this wonderful Zoo with Botanical Gardens!

Very nice localism blog.  Sounds like the Zoo may be a destination spot.

I enjoy hitting the zoo locally. Gives me a chance to be around really cool animals and an escape from some people who act like animals. Good info!

So you have both the Sanford Zoo and the Central Florida Zoo nearby. How awesome!

It's hard not to like Zoos although ours is being boycotted right now by a labor union and the anti-zooists.

Russel- Oops. The Central Florida Zoo and Sanford Zoo are one and the same. It's really called the Central Florida Zoo, but because it's located in Sanford, many people call it the Sanford Zoo. It was even called both names in the advertisement I pulled some of the info from. Sorry for the confusion. But I know how much you love your zoo!

Jim- Anti-zooists? I guess that doesn't really surprise me. But if the animals are happy and healthy, I don't see a problem. For all we know, we may be keeping them safer than they would be in the wild!

Ann- I thought so... except for the heat and humidity at this time of year!
