The CPS (Calgary Police Service) has a new way of keeping the citizens of Calgary safe and informed. They have a new tool on their website called: Crime Web Mapping Application. the CPS Map-Web is a leading-edge Internet solution that provides a valuable web site for the community, heightening public awareness of crime with education and data. A free email notification keeps subscribers tuned in to weekly reports. The CPS Crimes Web Mapping Application enables you to explore a map and find information about crimes that have occurred in the City of Calgary during the last 6 month. There are 12 categories of crime available for searching, including arson, assault, attempted murder, break and enter (2 types), vandalism, robbery, sexual offences, theft (3 types), and homicide.
This is extremely beneficial as the information is intended to promote awareness, encourage the use of crime prevention measures, and build a safer community. CPS Map-Web mapping program will help you know information about your neighbourhood, to stay alert and to stay informed!
