 SITTING BUDDHA CAT

Hollis NH Budda Cat

Meet the Hollis, New Hampshire Sitting Buddha Cat.  We don't know the name of the cat, but it is a very special cat indeed.  We called the cat Sitting Buddha cat and it taught all of us an important life lesson!

While our Hollis buddha cat seemed quite content sitting in this pose during most of the home inspection, from time to time it suspended its mediations to follow all of us as the inspector went through the home.

When we got to the second floor, the cat was no where to be seen.

The home inspector was explaining to the buyers, who were expecting their first child, that the bed should not be next to a window..... and that the window should only be opened at the top... not the bottom .. as this will prevent a toddler from falling out of a second story window.

... then all of a sudden there was the very loud sound of Buddha cat coming up the stairs and running down the hall

I couldn't believe my eyes!  ... Buddha cat took a flying leap onto the bed and was heading right toward the open window....  OH MY!  This wasn't looking good at all!

The room was silent... and I yelled out.. "grab the cat .."

... the home inspector tackled the cat from the head to the mid section... and I tackled the cat from behind.... We got the window shut... and it became crystal clear why beds should not be near windows when you have young kids... or Buddha cats.

This is a photo of Buddha cat about 15 minutes later... Sitting and meditating over the events of the day!  Maybe Buddha cat was much wiser than we thought.. and was only teaching everyone a lesson they would never forget...

One other lesson we learned.. it you have a flying cat... best to make sure the cat is in a crate during the homes inspection!

Susan ~  I think it is best for all pets to be in crates when strangers come to the house for showings or home inspections.  I don't know what would have happened if the cat "flew" out the window.  THE CAT WRANGLER!

Joan, what a great, entertaining story with the delivery of an important safety message as well.  I wish public safety announcements on TV would be this entertaining.

Mark -- Maybe the home inspector can use this in his advertising...  LOL... I think it would grab people's attention... I wish I had a camera.. the video would be great!

janeAnne ~ This certainly was one of the most exciting home inspections I have attended all year!  I hope the Hollis Buddha cat is doing well.

Funny photo.  Great story.  Cats scare me but if you put some in crates they make horrible sounds.

Namiste...

Wow - action story with cute animals, important safety messages - & probably a few laughs once the flying cat was safely caught!!  Never a dull moment in this business!!

That photo in and of itself is hilarious.  My guess is Buddha cat was simply accommodating the inspector by being his visual aid in his cautionary tale (or tail as life would have it).  Fun story.

Hi Joan -- Wow, too bad you didn't catch that on video, it would have made a real zinger.  Your reflexes and that of the home inspector's is impressive!  Lucky.

That is hysterical, Joan.  I can only imagine the look of horror as you started diving after the cat.  What was he thinking?

Leigh -- I am going to send this on to the inspector... I think it would be great for his advertising.

Maureen ~  I think putting the cats in crates during a home inspection or showings is a good idea.  Especially, if they are indoor cats!

Nancy ~  I think we should all get together a write a book about some of these types of experiences and then have some awesome illustrations... It would be a best seller.

Geri ~  Love it ... a cautionary tail... Awesome!

Pam ~  I am not sure whether or not this cat is "fat" or pregnant... I guess time will tell!  LOL

Pat ~  Now I have a unique accrediation for sure not too many cat wranglers in New Hampshire!  LOL

Joan - That was a great photo and story.  I could just picture you and the inspector wrangling this huge cat down.  Who would have thought this would happen?  You never know what you'll learn on AR.
