Not every rescue attempt succeeds. Sometimes you must accept your losses and move on.

Putting out fires is part of the real estate business.Yesterday was a particularly stressful one for me. It seemed that every phone call or email conveyed a major problem with a deal in process. In addition, two of my dear friends are immersed in life and death personal crises

As the pressure builds, and the realization sets in that these there is no way around it, the fires must be put out one at a time. No matter how hard it is to do so or how long it takes.

Occasionally, the rescue attempts succeed, and all that is needed is a some minor repair work and some clean-up!

And sometimes when the smokes clears the charred remains are a total loss. There is nothing left to salvage.

At that point, one must move forward and not look back!

Richard, So sorry you had a bad day and your friends are in the middle of a serious crisis. All we can do is put one foot in front of the other.  I we have control of is our reaction to things.

I am sorry yesterday was rough...seems we all have been having them lately...as I told some one...I may not get it closed or closed in time for the tax credit (if they don't extend it) but i will go down swinging and know that I worked my rear off to get it done....if it doesn't get done I know I did all i can....I think that is all anyone of us can do in stressful situations!

have a wonderful day today!

Richard,

Some days are like that....but the positive thing is some of those situations were resolved....and days like that help us appreciate days that are good ones.

I think we've all had one of those days. All we can do is handle the fires the best we can. Like you mentioned, some are easy to put out and some are beyond any help.

Working hard to put deals together and then working every day to keep them that way.  I'm sorry to hear about your friends as well.  Here's hoping that everything works out well and that you can reconcile the things that do not and move forward happy.  xxoo

Crisis mode is not a fun mode.  It's especially tough when all you can do is help support the friends or family in the crisis.  But having been in those places of crisis myself, sometimes just listening to them helps take a bit of the emotional burden off their shoulders.  I remember when my Dad was dying, during the last week of his life, I was home alone with him and a friend called.  I couldn't speak.  I was just crying.  So the friend came and sat on the couch with me, while Dad napped upstairs, for three hours.  We didn't even talk, but I'll never forget them being there.  Meant the world at the time.

I can relate.  I started the week with three signed contracts.  One has already blown up and the other two are shaky.
