Yes, I am indeed fortunate to be in Northeast Georgia!! I went for an early morning long walk on a dirt road, uphill :-} and it was wonderful. Did I do this freely of my own will? NO..it would have been much easier to sleep a little longer in the cool of the early morning, but my little dog, Sir Winston, woke me with a small growl and then a louder bark. He was ready for his morning walk. We go a mile in the morning and a mile in the evening. Since it is summer now, we go early in the morning and late in the evening. A great idea that keeps both of us in shape. Well, oddly enough two of my cats decided they want to follow. Do Cats walk? YES, but loudly!! By that I mean meowing all the way, every step protesting and wanting me to come back home. Now should a car decided to use this country road, one cat, Willow tries to beat it back to the driveway, crossing in front of the car several times and keeping my heart in my throat.
But back to our walk. Nowhere except Miami, in the 1950s and 60s have I smelled such sweet air!!! This morning it was filled with fragrance, honeysuckle, and blackberry blossoms? Nowhere is there a sign of a blossom, but the air is so fragrant..what a delight.
