10 Safety tips....while you leave for your Vacation

1. Ask your neighbor or someone to pick up newspaper/fliers out of the home.
2. Buy an inexpensive timer for the lights to go on and off.
3. Keep a key with your trusted neighbor/friend, incase of emergency you can contact them.
4. Stop the mail..even if you are gone for 3-4 days have the post office stop the mail before a crook get to your bills.
5. If you have a beautiful yard and you will be gone for a long time hire a professional to go out and mow the lawn.
6. Unplug all the appliances, even your tooth brush charger, computers & toasters.
7. Move the hockable valuables like electronics away from the windows without cover.
8. Leave A/C on high setting...let the outside compressor kick couple of times a day to steer a person away from home.
9. If you are taking your car, ask your neighbor to pack car in your driveway.
10. Biggest issue is false alarm, if you have alarm system in your home...

**  Train each person who will enter the premises on how to use the system,  including bypassing the motion detector, what to do if an alarm occurs, and   

how to cancel an alarm.

** Inform your alarm company about your vacation & who is authorize to access the home while you are gone.

** Give them a number to reach you, preferably a cell phone number, should your alarm system activate while you are away
