First and formost we live in the south where football reigns supreme. Lexington, SC is only about 30 minutes from the University of South Carolina Football Stadium . Lake Murray is a very large lake that is great for fishing, hanging out, or walking the dam and enjoying some of the prettiest sunsets you can imagine. Every July 4th, South Carolina Electric and Gas (the owners of the lake) hold events on the lake to ensure everyone has a great time. Events such as: The annual boat parade, the marina poker run, and the locals favorite firework show are sure to keep you entertained.Here is a schedule for the July 4th events:

12:00- Boat Parade (from Dreher Island the the Dam)

8:00pm- Patriotic  Concert at Dreher Island State Park

9:15pm- Largest Firework show in South Carolina!!

Festivals, and Fairs are also a big deal here in Lexington. Every year there is a Poultry festival in neighboring Batesburg Leesville, the Okra strut in Irmo, and the Peach festival in Gilbert. All of these places are just minutes from Lexington.
