As many of you know I am an Ambassador with the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce. We hold a lot events for our members to help with networking and show casing our members goods or services. This morning we did a Rise and Shine at the Holiday Inn and I noticed how many politicians were there making their appearances and it hit me. If we all worked like politicians looking for votes how busy we would be. In sales we are all looking for votes(votes of confidence) and we can tell how we are doing by our sales. politicians really have the art of branding down. Every local event you see them, always smiling and shaking hands and working overtime doing appearances and volunteer work to keep their name and face fresh in our minds. If we all used that same devotion to our trade I can't help but think our sales would show it. Just a thought but I think it will be part of my business plan to use the drive of the politicians to better brand my company. Best of luck in all you do.

A colleague in Alexandria, VA, had 100 cardboard "lollipop" signs printed and stapled to wooden stakes, showing his face, and in bold letters, "Elect Joe Dorodo Your Realtor".
He got his team to fan out across his market area on election day and pepper the polling sites with those signs, just like the politicians running for office.
So starting the next election, I followed suit by getting signs printed with my face and "Elect Erick Blackwelder Your Realtor".
The signs go out when the polls open, and get picked up when the polls close, and get stored in our sign storage room until the next election.
I get phone calls and emails from folks I've helped over the years buy and sell homes. They love it. It gets folks laughing, and keeps my name fresh.
