Norfolk and Plymouth, MA county residents and businesses who want to apply for repayments for flood damage now have until July 12.

This is the second time the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made an extension - first from Memorial Day and then from June 28.

FEMA spokesman Victor Inge said the agency made the second extension because the approval rate for applications has been 78 percent, a high percentage.  Applications can be made online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.

A March 13-14 storm dropped 6 inches of rain on the area, followed two weeks later by another drenching rain.

That's great that the government is actually trying to help people in these tragic events. I'm glad they have extended the deadline. Of course if someone needs help, it's on them to apply for it.
