Shower Curtains and Staging!

shower curtain in bath

If your house is for sale and there is no tub enclosure and there's a shower head over the tub, an inexpensive staging trick is

to update your shower curtain and rod and and don't forget the curtain rings.

My favorite stores in Abilene for shower curtains are Target, KMart, or Family Dollar.   They are my favorites because they are the only places I have bought shower curtains.  Walmart has shower curtains, but mainly I just buy shower rods from them.

Yesterday I was in KMart, looking at you guessed it the shower curtains,  and there was a young couple deliberating their choice of shower curtains and I couldn't help myself, I asked what color are you looking for and they had started out thinking of a black curtain, but couldn't find one.  Anyway, I shared my generous knowledge of available shower curtains in Abilene.

Some favorite picks  are Target and Walmart now have a zebra print shower curtain.  Another favorite of mine (because it is cheap at only $8)  is  Family Dollar's see through clear plastic curtain.  Easy to hang are the hookless curtains now at Walmart but they come only in a 2 or three  colors for now.

And  yes, I bought a plastic shower curtain yesterday  on sale at Kmart for $11.19, it is white with sage  green bamboo leaf design.  I got a shiny silver shower rod for 10.99  and clear plastic curtain rings for 2.99.  For about $25 plus tax,  a new shower curtain and rod provides an updated, trendy look to a bathroom.

Ross, TJMaxx, Big Lots and Marshalls are also great places to find high quality decorating items for highly discounted prices!

Hi Beverly - Excellent ideas.  I do know that I notice nice shower curtains, and when I see a shower with no enclosure, no rod or curtain in a vacant home, it seems somehow unfinished.

I too have used TJ Max and Marshalls for really nice shower curtains at a great price.  I like the idea of hookless shower curtains...I haven't seen those yet!

There's nothing like a gross, stiff with mold shower curtain to make buyers run and scream!

I agree it makes big difference. and all you need are  coat of paint, new curtains, towels and couple accessories.

One thing I don't like about my bathroom is that it has a shower door which means I don't get to change the look of the bathroom by changing the shower curtain.  I like the bamboo one you just bought.

We stage a lot of our listiing and have a shower curtain very favorite place for purchasinlg them is Burlington Coat Factory and another is Anna's Linens. A double curtain with expandable may find a solid one at the dollar store and one with a design over it with an interesting tie back....very cool.

Shelley,  I also shop Big Lots and Ross - in Abilene haven't seen much in the way of shower curtains though. TJ Max and Marshalls are not in Abilene.

Susan, you are so right, a shower curtain is a finishing touch for that bathtub enclosure hole.

Linda, I have found white hookless shower curtains at Walmart.

Pat, yes shower curtains are inexpensive and go up in minutes instead of hours with some changes.

Richard, moldy shower curtains need to go directly to the dumpster.

Thanks all for the comments.

I love the before and after photos of a bathroom.  It doesn't look like the same bathroom.   No longer sterile white.  Thank you for showing photos!

Judi, yes a shower curtain is something anybody is due and spent a little bit and buy the better hooks.  The $1.00 plastic rings will cost you 15 minutes in time and exasperation to snap in place.

Stacey, and the bamboo curtain was on sale!!!

Sally and David,  I like the idea of solid and print double curtain.  I will keep that in mind.

Deborah,  yes, shower curtains are very affordable.  In fact, Target has some for only $9.99

Dorie, Good morning to you too, the weekend got away with me - have been staging some more!

It's great to open active rain and have comments.  Thanks all!
