Last Saturday my wife took me out to a restaurant for Father’s day. Anna Maria Soprano - jon zolsky blog To my surprise there was a beautiful lady singing. And singing she was… To the point that the whole setting started resembling the concert, where a few confused patrons get upon a stage and had chutzpah to eat between the beautiful song.

I wrote about this experience in Honey, Let Me Take You to a Restaurant, which started a bit awkward, but ended very nicely.  And in couple of days in the best tradition of Russian hospitality we were sitting at our kitchen table with Anna Maria and her husband Anthony and we had a very pleasant evening talking about life (but this time no singing). So, this outing for Father’s day ended up meeting a very interesting couple.

Anna Maria Caserta Cavicchia has a great voice. She reminds me Sarah Brightman. Anna Maria is professionally trained. She studied Opera Canto at G. Tartini Conservatory of Music in Trieste, Italy, studied jazz singing at Dizzy Gillespie & Lillian Terry’s Jazz School in Bassana Del Grappa, Italy.

She moved to US in 2001, and since 2004 lives in Anna Maria Soprano - jon zolsky blogOrmond Beach taking care of her husband and their 4 year old son. She started singing in Toscana Restaurant since February. She gets a very warm welcome, but it is not a crowded restaurant, even though the food is good and the service is excellent… not the  ideal location, though… She is thinking of getting on stage, she is thinking about singing… It is a shame not to bring such a beautiful voice to the public, but people do not know about her.

I do not want to read you her resume, but rather suggest that you watch the video and listen to Anna Maria. I did not figure how to upload an audio file to AR, so I just created a slide show with views of Italy, and added a song.

Listen to Anna Maria, our new friend, and a beautiful soprano singer.
