My turn to Meme!!

By
Industry Observer

Thank you, Karen Rice, for meme-ing me!

Here's how it all began:  http://activerain.com/blogsview/27305/The-First-ActiveRain-Meme

And now I have to think of 5 things that you don't know about me.  Hmmm...considering I haven't been around AR all that long, there's probably LOTS of things you don't know about me.  But since I have to choose just 5, here goes:

1)     I LOVE elephants!!

One of my favorite places in the whole world is the Cleveland MetroparksZoo!

They've even taught the girls how to paint...and yes, I have one of Moshi's paintings on the wall above my piano.  : )

I've been collecting all things related to elephants since I was 13 years old.  If it's got an elephant on it, I probably own it.  If it's shaped like an elephant, I probably have one.  Earrings?  Necklaces?  Coffee mugs?  Slippers??  Yep...they all have a place in my home.  But why do I love elephants so much?!  Well, probably because they're just so big and strong...and gentle.  And maternal.  And incredibly intelligent, and they never forget.  As a realtor, that's an important trait!  But I never liked the movie "Dumbo"...I felt it was too mean.  It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside...what matters is what you're like on the INSIDE.  Yeah, I know that sounds corny...but it's how I really feel!

2)     Being from the Cleveland area, how can I NOT love roller-coasters?!  Cedar Point is THE roller-coaster capital of America...if not the world.  My 2 teenagers and I go every summer.  I was so  grateful when they were old enough to ask "Mom, can I go on the BIG roller-coaster with you??"  The higher and faster, the better!

Except for one  small detail - I'm terrified of heights.  So I just don't look down...I look out over Lake Erie until I'm at the very, very top.  Then it's "arms up" and down we gooooooo.....!

 3)     My favorite movie is "The Wizard of OZ".  Even as a little kid I knew how important "home" was.

4)     Green is my favorite color.  How appropriate, since my real estate ‘home' is also green!  And the "Emerald City"...I wonder if that's another reason I like "The Wizard of OZ"??

5)    I like salt on my cantaloupe.   No special reason...I just think it tastes better like that!

And now I'm going to pass the torch to:

Carl Berg

Tia Stanley

and

Katy Stansifer

Have fun everyone!!

My parents always put salt on cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew! Well, whatever works for you.  lol.

I love The Wizard of Oz too.  It wasn't until I was an adult though, that I learned to love the Cowardly Lion.  I hated him as a kid, thought he was a stupid pain in the butt.  I only liked the Scarecrow as a kid.  Now I love them ALL, even that annoying "If I were king...of the forrrrrrreeeeeeeessssst" song.  LOL

Sue! I don't know why I didn't know you were on AR. I know I had a contact message from you but i did not put two and two together! I'm glad I found you!

Salt on cantaloupe! I had not thought about that since my parents were the people I shared meals with....they salted it so I did too; then I got away from it when I moved away; I wonder if that is a regional thing? (Well, my parents were from the Pittsburgh area, but you know what I mean lol)

It was fun to read your meme, I hope you are enjoying real estate, and I look forward to seeing you around the Rain!  :-)

Teresa ~ I don't know if you found out what Meme is yet, but go to this link for more info.  It's basically a blog-chain letter...to learn more about all of us!  : )

Cristy ~ Thanks!  I still have trouble getting the pictures to go where I want them to...but practice makes better!

Karen ~ Yeah, I never liked the lion either, OR that song.  Why the powers that be didn't cut it I'll never know.  I have a book "The Making of the Wizard of OZ", and they cut tons of scenes...but left that one.  I usually went out to make something to eat during it.

Bob ~ It's funny that the cantaloupe/salt thing is what folks mention the most.  My family (kids and hubby) look at me like I'm crazy.  But I love it!!

Hey there, Carole!  Yep, I made it, and I'm at HH.  I love it so far!  And my folks are also from the Pittsburgh area, so maybe that's where the salty cantaloupe comes from?  How about Peanut Butter, Jelly and Baloney sandwiches??  Or baloney cooked inside your pancakes???  My Mom got us eating those, too!

Sue, honey, I love ya girl, you know that...but baloney?  In pancakes?  And pBJ?

Wow, that's just wrong.

Though as a kid I loved peanut butter, pickle, and cheese sandwiches.  My girlfriend and I used to gross our parents out, it was all we wanted to eat.  LOL.  Now that I think about it, it makes me queasy.

Thank you, Frank!  So are you originally from up North??  Ducks are cool, too.  It's fun to go to flea markets and see all these collections folks have.  I got most of my earlier elephants from flea markets, and later garage sales.  One person's junk....  : )

Hey Karen...don't knock it till ya try it!  I could make a whole list of weird foods we ate as kids (and still do at times), but that's for another blog.  lol

Rita - salt? on cantaloupe?  I've heard of salt on tomatoes (or sugar), but never salt on cantaloupe!  WOW - what else are you hiding?

Jennifer, my kids would love you!  They're salt-a-holics.   But I've never put salt on grapefruit.  It looks like you and Calie have your fruits and veggies all mixed up.  Aren't you supposed to put SUGAR on grapefruit??

Calie ~ Sugar on tomatoes???  Now that's a new one even for me!
