"There is a list for everything... and, if it's good, Wenatchee is probably on it!"
-Carol Williams
This post was originally published on August 11, 2007. Since I retired from active listing and selling and property management in 2011, I decided I need to remove old contact links, remove links to old websites and blogs, and change content that no longer reflects today's real estate environment.
Also, please keep in mind that I am no longer licensed and cannot be your real estate advocate. However, if you are looking to buy or sell a home or investment property in Wenatchee and don't know who to call, let me know. I can make some recommendations of highly qualified agents for you to interview and hire based on your specific needs. They can give you all the current news, info and trends in the local real estate market. I get no financial compensation for these recommendations. I just want you to have a great buying or selling experience.

As if we haven't had enough attention the last year, National Geographic has put Wenatchee on their list of Top Adventure Towns in America. Wenatchee placed in the Mountain Town category, as did Hood River, Oregon.
In the photo above you see the beautiful,snow-capped, Cascade Mountain range (as seen from East Wenatchee) towering over the city of Wenatchee. In the lower right portion of the photo, the Wenatchee River flows into the mighty Columbia River.
Other national recognition distinctions for Wenatchee over the last year are:
Named #1 Appreciating Real Estate Market in the nation
Named Safest City in Washington State
Named a top 5 Green City
Besides being a recreational mecca among the mountains, rivers, lakes, and ski hills, we boast a strong and diverse economy with several major employers, including:
* Agriculture (fruit production)
* Hydroelectric Power
* Local, State, and Federal government
* Aluminum Production (ALCOA)
* Educational services
* Medical Services
* Tourism
What is driving our economy?
* Inexpensive power (Chelan & Douglas), among 3 least expensive counties in the entire nation)
* Dry desert air & 300 days of sunshine
* Recreational opportunities galore
* Best apples in the world
* Unemployment at 16-year low (3.5%)
All of this continues to attract people to the area and drive demand for real estate.
