Verab Greenhouses, in Bethany, Ct came to the rescue, and what a find it was.
We were looking for some annuals for our front yard rock garden and as I was late in getting it we were getting anxious at being able to find good plants still available.
Within a weekly newspaper was a flyer from VERAB GREENHOUSES, in nearby Bethany, Ct.
I suggested to the wife that we take a drive and give it a look as it was so close and the prices were exceptionally low.
There are so many outlets near us that offer annuals and perennials, but this caught my bargain eye.
The place was not that hard to find, right off of Rt 63 in Bethany, Ct and right across the street from the Little League baseball fields in Bethany Ct. The sign for Verab Greenhouses, was very much home made and my wife thought it was a waste of time. I drove down a stone driveway, and as we passed around a corner, there was burst of colors awaiting us, and a very busy yard as well.
Trays of all types of colors of annuals, hanging plants just begging to be taken, prices that made one wonder if there were misprints, and so many things to pick from.
So much to pick from, everything looking so healthy and the staff of Verab Greenhouses so ready to help. Annuals, perennials, garden plants, everything priced so reasonably, and almost all for sale. (that hanging tomato plant was the special ornament of Bill Verab, the owner of Verab Greenhouses in Bethany CT.
We picked up 6 trays of begonias, red and white, a hanging basket for the house, some individual plants for window boxes along the deck all for less than $25.00
I asked the owner if he would mind my blogging about his place and he agreed as long as I included their flyer, with the sales available for the month.
Verab Greenhouses in Bethany, Ct, a great place for your planting needs. Great hours, catering to commercial accounts as well, and always available as their house is right next door. And when you go there, mention how you found them, it just might get you a little something extra.
