Please Hold , Your Call Means Absolutely Nothing To Me...

Please Hold , Your Call Means Absolutely Nothing To Me. Does this sound familar?

I have found myself, as a real estate agent, spending large amounts of time waiting to talk to the 2 people at each bank responsible for 9,207,003 short sales and foreclosures. So here I am waiting on hold on my phone for Ema Jacmearound or Phil Needmoretime to pick up. I have come up with several solutions on how to spend my life on hold...

What are you doing on hold?

  1. Reading (War and Peace comes to mind)
  2. Organize your inbox
  3. Video games
  4. Checking the help wanted ads
  5. Personal Hygiene
  6. Balancing your checkbook
  7. Cross word puzzles
  8. Writing the great American novel
  9. Looking in the want ads for a new career
  10. Craig's list
  11. eBay
  12. Surfing the web in general
  13. YouTube
  14. Searching the MLS
  15. Doodling
  16. Building houses out of business cards
  17. Looking at the Vacation pictures of Hawaii, Italy, downtown Oxnard CA.
  18. Cleaning your office
  19. Cleaning your house
  20. Trying to read or find your notes from last time you called this person
  21. Counting the times the recorded voice tells you, how important your call is
  22. Figuring out why the company hasn't tuned in the music with the on hold station
  23. Singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall
  24. Trying to Google your prom date from high school
  25. Coloring your doodles
  26. Eating everything in sight
  27. Trying to figure out how old some the food in your desk is
  28. Trying to figure out who sat in your desk before you got it
  29. Trying to name all the agents in your office as of when you went on hold
  30. Naming all the capitals of the states
  31. Organizing your desk calendar
  32. Listening to your iPod with one ear bud
  33. Counting how many times your call is important
  34. Trying to remember why and who you're on hold for...
  35. Adding to your bucket list...
  36. Recycling old paperwork
  37. Catchin up on that beauty rest
  38. How about blogging on the Rain

You might want to keep this list close to your desk. You never know when you might be on hold for, might be on hold for, oh crap, what time is it???

good one.  They just don't care.  They will move at their own speed.

Now that's what I call adapting to the situation. After all, we may as well make the most of it.

Hi Paul,

Funny list.  I like Sudoku puzzles myself, but usually just put the phone on speaker and keep working on the computer.  Reading blogs is a good one.
