Farm Fresh ProduceLocated so close to the Central Valley and an abundance of the state’s best agriculture, Livermore’s Farmer’s Market is a bountiful display of the season’s most colorful and tasty fresh fruits and vegetables.

Held each Thursday from 4 to 8, residents flock to the heart of downtown to stock up on farm-fresh produce. Encompassing the entire block surrounding the historic Carnegie building, you’ll find plenty to lure you back, week after week. Carnegie Park is located on Third St., between J and K.

Other vendors round out the menu with fresh-baked breads and pastries, cheeses and olive oil. Fresh flowers for your table and even hot-of-the grill tri tip and chicken to complete your evening meal. But more than a quick stop to shop, the Livermore Farmer’s Market has become a gathering place for residents at the end of the day, where food vendors offer quick snacks or meals on the go, to enjoy in the park.

Each month, two Thursdays are set aside for additional fun. Family First Night (the first Thursday of each month) is dedicated to the little ones. Games, performers, story-time and special programs geared toward little ones, provide a much-needed diversion for little ones while parents stock up on weekly supplies.

The third Thursday of the month is geared to the over-21 crowd, as local wineries pour some of the valley’s favorite wines. Two different wineries are featured each Thirsty Thursday. Even better, enjoy live music as you relax, stroll and taste as local bands provide lively entertainment.

Come out and join the fun. The Livermore Farmer's Market is open May 20th through October 21st.

Continue the farm-fresh shopping at the Year Round Farmer's Market, each Sunday, a smaller sampling available throughout the year. You'll find it between J and K Streets, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Before moving to AZ we lived in Danville where they held a weekly farmers market in a downtown parking lot. It was fun to attend.

My brother lives there Bill, and he loves it.  I like that we have wine at ours though :)
