Blandwood Mansion, Greensboro, NCIf you are in Greensboro, NC this summer, you may want to take in some of Greensboro's historic sites.  One unique stop on your tour should be Blandwood Mansion.  It is steeped in history and is very convenient located in the heart of Greensboro.

Blandwood Mansion, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1795, which is before Greensboro was even founded.  Blandwood Mansion is named after Charles Bland, its first owner.  It was subsequently owned by John Motley Morehead, North Carolina's govenor from 1841-1845.  In addition to its historical significance, the landmark also has some rare architectural attributes.  Also, often you will find local archeology students digging in grids across the grounds.  They are still trying to uncover all of the mysteries hidden at Blandwood Mansion.

Look for special events throughout the year.  One of our favorites is the ghost stories told by professional story teller, Cynthia Moore Brown.  She makes a limited number of appearances around Halloween of every year.  Christmas at Blandwood is also very popular, as is the music in the park events.

Consider Blandwood Mansion for your next event.  The Carriage House at Blandwood Mansion is available to rent.  It is a popular site for weddings and parties.  Check out the website for the details.

Very knowledgable tour guides provide tours of the mansion and surrounding grounds throughout the day.  The tours are included in the price of admission.
