House Passes the Homebuyer Tax Credit Extension for Those Already Under Contract

AP is reporting that the homebuyer credit extension has passed the House -- homebuyers will have until September 30th 2010 to close on properties that they put under contract by April 30, 2010.   This would certainly be a good thing for those buyers who haven't been able to close on their homes for one reason or another.  One of my clients almost fell in to this category when the seller, who lives in Canada now, had to get the U.S. Embassy to notarize some paperwork at the last minute.  Fortunately we closed on that property today.

Enjoy,

Passed the House today but still has to pass the Senate, unfortunately.   So we aren't home free yet!  Hope it does all get worked out, including the flood insurance funding.

Yes, I'm sorry if my title wasn't clear enough.  That's how it appeared in the actual news report.  I changed the title so as not to be confusing.  Hopefully my text explains things in more detail.   Sadly, there probably are some people who don't realize that a law has to pass both the house and the senate and be signed by the President.  I hope it all gets worked out, too.
