"Knowledge is power so don't come up short on your sale (pun intended)"
In my ever quest to obtain more knowledge in regards to Short Sales in Northern Virginia, I have signed up for a new designation (CDPE Certified Distressed Properties Experts). I recently obtained my SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosures Resource) from the National Associations of Realtors but quite frankly, I don't feel it gives me the breadth of knowledge I need to represent someone wishing to sell their home by Short Sale in NOVA or buy a Short Sale in NOVA. The CDPE designation seems to be much more thorough and will serve as an upgrade to the knowledge and experience I already have in helping buy and sell distressed properties.
"One must have patience for Short Sales and Foreclosures in Northern Virginia"
The next designation I will seek to obtain in order to better representing my clients for a short sale or foreclosure in the Northern Virginia area will be the Serenity Designation.
Okay, this really isn't a designation but WOW, one certainly does have to take a lot of deep breaths throughout the process of buying a short sale or foreclosure. The variables that are beyond your control can be very trying (Does the listing Realtor of the short sales have their ducks in a row? How far a long is the approval? how many parties are involved to get approval? Are you sure the Realtor even presented your offer? Were you nice to loss mitigation? Was the foreclosure even recorded before it was listed be the REO company? The list goes on and on)..So, it might be best to have the Serenity Prayer memorized or handy to look at when times are trying.
I look forward to reflecting back on this blog once I have finished the class and make note as to how useful the class was. I always seek to better represent my clients and to do that I must remember: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!
