There was a whooping 72 sales closed for the month of June 2010 on the island of Kauai. 13 of these sales were REOs. This is 18% of the market which is relatively still low compared to the rest of the country. The increase in sales is probably due to the homeowner tax credit. The number of REOs is increasing especially in the area of the studio condos. Some of these condos are selling for a fraction of what they originally sold for in the peak of the market.
