Wednesday 08.15.07

Noon-1pm Lunchtime at the Library - Bring your lunch and enjoy Mariachi and Mexican Folk music at the Main Library - Free.

6:30-9pm Bear Canyon Senior Center Thursday Night Dance

Friday 08.17.07

Dusk (about 8:30pm) - Movies on Civic Plaza "The Day the Earth Stood Still", a 1951 Sci-Fi film.

Saturday 08.18.07

10am-4pm - Around the World in 80 Days. Each Saturday your balloon will land in a new part of the world. This week will be Arctic - Iceland and Norway. You'll explore that locale's culture, ballooning history, sample food, and enjoy entertainment.

Sunday 08.19.07

11-11:45am Dharma for Kids - Every Sunday at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Center $1.

Susan - I got this idea from Kimberly Grant here on AR. She does a good job showing off her town as well. I was just mentioning an occasional one but this format gives a nice overview.

Katerina - It took me about 45 minutes. I went to the cities web site as well as a couple of online cultural sites. It didn't take much time. I think it will be easier as I go since I can keep track of events as I hear them and then mention them in the correct week.

Sounds like there's plenty to do in ABQ. The chophouse sounds like my kind of place. BTW, you are so right about Kimberly Grant, I love her writing too. She is one very talented lady! I'd love to meet her someday.

Karen - They had "Some like it Hot" last Friday but I wasn't able to make it. I would have liked to have seen that one. Truthfully with my schedule this week I don't think I will be doing anything extra.

I'll bring my CAMERA!!! I actually just returned from an AWESOME conference and have a new dedication to this "job." I'm not ready for another vacation....YET! When I am...I know who to call!! Maybe Cyndee will join me in ABQ and YOU!!! Can you even imagine???
