So, here's the schedule for Maumee's Ohio fireworks display and community picnic on July 3rd, but after that I have more of the story to tell, and a lovely little video that expresses from my heart the gratitude I feel for the men and women who have defended this country so that I can sit here and write whatever I feel without retribution.
July 3rd, 2010 Corner of East Wayne and Conant Streets:
5-9pm hot dog and brats and ice cream from jacky's Depot 5-7 pm Maumee Community Band 7-9pm Live Jazz Bands 9:45pm Fireworks from the Bridge
Okay, the rest of the story ... my nice young couple are both active military. Multiple tours of both Iraq and Afghanistan. They get to spend the next 3 years stateside. And I am priveledged to be the Real Estate agent that found the home where they can safely lay their heads down at night.
Thank you Mollie and Phillip for your service to our country.
And while I'm thanking people, a big thank you to my son, Drew (Ohio Army National Guard - active duty tour helping with Hurrican Katrina in New Oleans and one tour of Iraq) and my other son Zak, United States Navy (many overseas missions on the water). Mommy loves you both and is proud beyond these simple words.
This is for you ...
