The number of houses for sale in Riverside California

I've been keeping track of the inventory of houses for sale in Riverside CA for quite a while. An important number to watch, for both buyers and sellers, is how many houses are on the market. As you can see from the chart below, the number of active listings has gone down dramatically since the end of 2008.  But it has been holding fairly steady for almost a year.

It will be very interesting to see what this number looks like in July with the Federal credit gone.  Did you hear the state $10k program has almost run out for first-time homebuyers?  The $10k for new homes is still available but running low on the other.

Harry, Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Aaron,  I'm going to guess that the number of houses on the market will propably stay about the same.  But I think we will be loosing a lot of ground on the number of closed sales with the expiration of the Federal tax credit.  Yes, I knew that the state money is almost gone already.  I went on the website recently to see how much was left.

Vicki tracking homes inventory is a good static to watch as far as your local market. This help me when speaking with both sellers and buyers.
