Concow's Community Rebirth - Life After The Rim Fire

It has been 2 years this month since the Rim Fire was changing the face of the mountain community of Concow.

Approximately 180 homes were lost to the fire.  The slow recovery from the disaster of that fire still continues for some.  However there is something remarkable about the course of nature after a fire.

Concow Mystery Flowers After The Rim Fire

These Flowering Plants Are Amazing. I Don't Believe They Were Actively Growing Before The Rim Fire.

If Anyone Knows Their Name Please Let Us Know.

KNVN TV recently did a feature article regarding one of our client's rebuilding experiences, after the fire.

The news lady seemed a little confused whether it was NBC or CBS at the very beginning!

Rich,

I don't know her story. Perhaps she recently relocated to KNVN and the California North State.

It's great to see the Concow area turning around. When we first re-entered the area after the fires the community was still smoldering in places.

I'm not current on my weeds, so I have no idea what those are in your picture.

Mother and Father Nature know what they are doing when they start fires. Now if we'll just let them do it.

Yancey (and Susan),

Thank you both so much for the information!  After reading your link it makes  sense why the Mullein wasn't noticed before the fire.  Now that so much of the ground has been changed the plant hase been given the opportunity to thrive.

Russel,

Our friends from Cottonwood, Susan and Yancey identified the plant as Mullein or Jacob's Staff.
