So, now that we know the line up for the final game of the 2010 Spain against The Netherlands, with nether team ever winning this championship.
That in its on right seems odd, as for many decades both Nations have been considered to produce some of the worlds best players. The problem for both Nations has always been to get a team effort for an entire tournament. With often the ego's of the superstars destroying the opportunities for success for either team in the past.
Holland has been in the final 2 times before, and hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky, but from what I saw today during Spain's game against Germany, for Holland to win, they will have to work for 90 plus minutes and go all out to gain possession of the ball, and a real advantage in the game.
Spain and Holland have a long and shared history on so many levels, but having a world Cup Final between these 2 soccer power houses a sight to behold...
Going back a long long time in history there was an 80 year war between the 2 countries, which ended with a treaty.
That war was mostly about religious freedom and Independence.
The Dutch in the end did win that war, and it was followed by one of Hollands most successful era's in trade, growth and prosperity for more than 200 years to follow and established Holland as one of the most successful trading nations in the world, which position it still holds today.
As a proud Canadian, with Dutch heritage, I would have loved to see Canada to be at this tournament, and some day they will (2022 is my guess). But Now that we are at the end of the tournament, my question to you is,
Who should be the win the battle for the cup and win all the tulips.
