How to get thousands of points a day on Active Rain.

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners GA341882 FL0613306

Can someone please tell me how I should be structuring my rainmaker account.  How do I get people to subscribe to my blog?  Is there a way I can have a sign up on my website to become a subscriber?

Also, do I feed it to Facebook or is my goal to get them all back to my Active Rain page?

Also, how do I get more referrals and higher rankings on my page?  Also, do I direct people to my outside blog or even wordpress- I just feel like I am going around in circles!

Thank you for your help.  I very much appreciate it as I am new to "Blogging" and to being a Rainmaker.  Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Steven:  Sounds like you are getting addicted to AR.  We all get the bug.  At first it's all about points, it's all about getting comments, getting noticed, getting subscribers.... It can make you a nervous wreck.  I went through all phases of that.   I think I finally cried for not having a featured post...then it finally happened.  My best advice is to consider your BLOG and your posts as a business tool.   Write to promote your services to your community base.  It's all about Google Juice and SEO.  You will LEARN so much here in this Network.  Be active in the social aspect of Active Rain and it will generate referrals from other agents here that have gotten to know you from the comments you make on their blog....or them reading your posts.  There are so many "HOW-TO" posts about any subject here.  Consider AR as a reference manual.  The search feature will help you find posts on any subject....well almost any....  Let's see if you get even more comments on this post!

I appreciate it.  I opted for the free 30 day trial for Rainmaker so I am trying to see if there are benefits.  I do like the RSS feed and the fact that its public already but still trying to figure it all out.  Again, thank you.

I find Brad Andershon's posts to be very insightful and helpful.  His post on how-to-create-and-maximize-your-activerain-blog-post should be very helpful to you too.

There is much to learn hear by reading the posts of others.  If you want to accelerate your learning about social media in general, consider going to an Rain Camp, a full day seminar that will give you a ton of things to work on to build your business.  Up at the top of the page to the right are upcoming sessions. If you are expecting quick results, you may be disappointed.  Most successful posters have been using this medium for quite some time.

Think of it as continuing education, a way to build your referral base and a place to up your rankings on Google.  Each of those things on their own would have a cost in terms of time and money.  For what it provides, I think AR is an excellent value.

Hi, I was about to ask the same questions but found your post.  I was ranked number 2 in my city for the longest time and then noticed another member who has maybe 1/3 of my blog post outranked me and doesn't have many points in the point summery.  The majority of the points he had were "OTHER POINTS"  I would be interested to know what these other points are and how to get them so fast.

I saw the option to sign up for rainmaker...and noticed you said you were going to try it...can you give me some feedback on how that's working (or worked) out for you?

Better and Better,

Tiffany :)

Tiffany, I have the same question as you.  Have you found out how people are getting the "OTHER POINTS"?

Hello all. It is very interesting to read all the comments by other AR members and learn about how each one of you think differently on how things may or may not " Points " " Leads " Refferas " and more. I started being active on AC since yesterday and while browsing on it I have notice That with my posts and Comments I got around 5K points so far..Pretty Good. You basically Navigate, Participate and post Blogs and Comments to each other and as time goes by you'll advance every day. I got featured in one day but I have posted many of my blog articles on here that got me there. Please be patient and work hard, It always Pays-off/.

The point system is addictive. Comments are great - but make sure your comments ADD VALUE. It makes a huge difference.

I noticed that when I first started gaining points that another person was right next to me on the list, then she shot up gaining so many points so fast, I lost track of her, now, all of a sudden, I notice that I'm only two behind her now. Slow and steady may yet win the race.

There is a mortgage person in my market that has only 3 blog posts in her entire history- we have 44 and counting- and she has over 60,000 "other points" out of 65000 total points.  It does not really make much sense to me... any insight anyone?
