Alliance for Justice Releases Report on Oil-Industry Ties to Fifth Circuit Judges Hearing Drilling Moratorium Case

How can judges be impartial on a case in which they were paid millions representing the one party in the past?  If judges have received money from either party, they should be removed from the case.
This may seem a little difficult, considering they are paid by the government and the case is big oil verses the government.

What about the timing?  The government wants to ban deep water drilling until the oil companies present a plan covering all the aspects.  Based in what has happened in the Gulf Coast, this seems reasonable.  Recent articles have stated, the pressures caused by the oil and gases at that depth may be between 90,000 psi and 900,000 psi.  Air compressor tanks are rated for about 250 psi, compressed oxygen tanks at about 20,000 psi.

The oil line in the gulf has already taken a 25 foot x 53 foot valve weighting 350 tons and blew it so far, they cannot locate it.  How many miles this valve has been relocated by the pressures is anyone's guess.  Based on that evidence, they can estimate a static pressure.  Since that time, BP has attempted to install a much larger valve and failed.  They have installed a vented valve for a short time, but now that valve is missing.  It doesn't take an Einstein to see, they are planning based on their best estimations, not solid facts.  Suspending additional drilling would be the smart move.

What about the clean up efforts?  BP has demonstrated their lack of response and concern in this matter.  It had taken BP over 40 days to make an initial, particle payment for services rendered in the clean up effort.  We all know, lenders do not like waiting for their money, why has BP been sluggish in making their payments?

We also have to remember, BP is not an American company.  British Petroleum is a British company who has shown they will resort to political sway in an effort to shirk responsibly.

Since this is an International incident, maybe a form of the world court system should be involved.  What is going to happen to the oil in the water once a hurricane or two make a visit?  This may be part of BP's plan.  Do as little as possible and let nature run its course.  But what is going to happen when this oil reaches the shores of Canada, Greenland, Iceland and finally England? That's when everyone stops blaming BP and looks to the US for money.

If they were smart they would wait to see if they can solve this problem before creating a string of others.  My guess is, when they tap into this leak with the relief line, they will have two leaks under pressures they are unprepared to handle.
