This is a great article by the New York Times on Localism in Portland. I remember when the article detailing this particular event came out in The Oregonian, and it still makes me chuckle. It does say a lot about the character of the city and the importance of Localism to the people.
We take this city seriously, because its the best place to live! Come for a visit.
